Sorry for my long absence, here’s what I’ve been up to…

Hello, all you lovely people. I know it’s been a while. I don’t know about you but I’ve really missed you, missed writing to you and most of all, missed baking and rambling about it. But if you think I’ve come to you today with a delicious recipe, sorry to burst your bubble, but no I haven’t, not yet anyway. Before I tell you about my long absence, I’ve got to raise the perfunctory question – how’ve you all been? What’s happening in the sweet world? What did I miss? Honestly, I’ve got a bit of catching up to do.

Some of you here know me personally, and some of you have chanced upon my blog and been an active part of it – either way, I can’t think you enough for your encouragement. I don’t mean to sound all patronizing but on a dreary afternoon, when I am thinking of all the things that are wrong with this world, and I get that one comforting email from you about my blog and how great it is, I genuinely feel happy and I feel like I have something to look forward to.

I’ve been back home (Chennai, India) all this while, to be with my mother. She met with an unfortunate accident and broke her knee. She had to undergo a surgery and she is recovering now. I packed my bags and left overnight, not knowing when I’d return. I spent a lot of time with her and my family, something I realized I missed a lot. The universe has a way of making you do things that are long overdue, at times in a not so pleasant circumstance, but eventually, everything happens for the good, and for a reason. She is much better now and the doctor has said that she should be alright within a few more days (touchwood).

As you might’ve all guessed, I didn’t have the infrastructure to bake, but more importantly, I would be lying to you if I said I had the inclination to bake. I just wanted to be with my mother and ensure she was okay. So that’s my explanation for the long absence. Now that I’m back, I’m aching to smell the aroma of a cake baking in the oven. So, the epicurean journey shall resume shortly. But before that I have a favour to ask of you.

I’ve done a few changes to my blog. I’ve moved my blog from, to make it better for you, to make it easier for us to communicate and also to make its presence bigger. Some of you may not have been able to access my links and that’s because of the same reason. My blog is still functioning a one hundred percent and you can access my website anytime like you always do. You can still search for recipes in the little search tab on the top, right corner of my blog.

However, in the process of moving, I’ve realized that I can’t automatically migrate all you lovely followers to my new space.
